Hiho,

 

I've got The Division with my latest SSD purchase and I have to admit that it run like S**T.

 

I have 780TI SLI and when it comes to 4K gameplay it only runs at about 40FPS lowest graphical settings and SLI scaling is 61% on each card? Is this normal? I'm a bit bummed that I might have to lower to 1440p for this specific game.

 

(Yes I'm planning to upgrade to Pascal as soon as it's out, but 104 chip might not be good enough, will be waiting for 100 chip).

Both GPU's sit at 61-65% usage like (Nah m8 no need to use that extra 40%)

 

and CPU boosts to 100% usage while loading for about a minute oh my God.

If VRAM is full, and it needs more, it will need to swap to system memory which will not help with your frame rate at all.

Of course it will, but even when I played Shadow of Mordor for instance on 4K res ultra/high settings, I was getting 90-100FPS easily. Even though I ran out of VRAM easily and only had 16GB of RAM whereas now I have 32GB of RAM. Also, SLI Scaling was so much better in that game. It feels like my GPUs are really old now.

Can you provide objective data as far as your VRAM usage is concerned during The Division? Please don't say "obviously full." That doesn't help me or anyone else. We have no data. Increasing system memory will not necessarily improve graphical performance. You shouldn't even be swapping to system memory in the first place.

780TI = 3GB of VRAM and it uses the entire amount. Not to mention, I'm not swapping anything, if it does do that then I didn't know.

Yeah I think so too, I remember gaming easily on 4K and now there was a sudden change and 4K is far too demanding for my GPUs which is sad.

780TI is equivalent to 970 basically, so if my 780TI in SLI can't run it well, 970 people are not going to get any better results than me to be fair. 970 is also a very recent card too! This sucks major ballssack. I can run MGS: Phantom Pain 4K on ultra settings and I think that The Division is not optimised well AT ALL...

So you cant run a very demanding game  with max settings in 4k? Shame on the Developers....

The game can for sure be pretty demanding at times.

I have a 980 and at 1920x1080 and while it maintains 60fps the vast majority of the time there are a few open areas that can bring the fps down to the low 40s.

There are a lot of lighting, fog and particle effects in wide open area that can really push a GPU.

 

Seeing as you're running the game at a significantly higher resolution, even with sli 780s, I'm not surprised by your frame rates.

Uhhh nope. I hate Ubisoft, but Snowdrop is an amazing engine. Looks great and can be scaled to run on a variety of GPUs in different performance brackets. If you think mgs5 looks even half as good as the division, you need glasses. You're grossly overestimating what your cards are actually capabke of.

I'll admit I don't play The Division myself, but based on this data I'm not surprised that your SLI 780 Ti's are performing poorly. ~60% load per GPU is disappointing and may suggest optimization issues at the very high-end, but I don't know what you can do about it.
