So i have an AMD FX-8350 with an ASUS  M5A97 R2.0 motherboard.  ASUS motherboards give you the "ASUS Remote GO!" app t be able to many things like update drivers, monitor temps, fan speed, etc.. I have been monitoring my temps lately because it has been decently high. For some games i see them go as high as 67, i know that temp is not optimal which is why i don't run it that long with that temp. However, today i decided to download a different cpu temperature monitor called Core Temp 1.0 RC8. On my second monitor i put both softwares up and while playing a game of counter strike, the temps were about 10 degrees off. Core Temp said that it was around 50-54 while the ASUS software claimed they were around 64-67. What software is more trustworthy? I re-applied thermal paste around a month ago and the cpu temperature i am using is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo.

Download another program like HWMonitor to see what it says.

Honestly most programs will not tell you the accurate temps for AMD CPU's or APU's, why its simple, they are not using proper TJ.Max scaling and idle temps too high. there is a small post here on NZXT Forums. http://camfeedback.nzxt.com/forums/252256-bugs-issues/suggestions/11526000-cam-not-recording-proper-amd-temps-for-cpu-not-us

But if you want a more detailed explanation you should check out "An Understanding of Temperature on AMD CPUs and APUs" on tomshardware.co.uk

  http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-2122665/understanding-temperature-amd-cpus-apus.html

these posts were not created by me, but i think they might help you.

I have an AMD A8-6600k apu, so i know the feeling of being frustrated by wrong temps.
