SoundCard and Headphones less than $400USD

Hi I need a good recomendation for my new sound setup.

I dont want to spend more than 400USD,I need a good decent and new SoundCard and some good headphones (closed Heaphones)

 

I been looking on amazon but I really dont know what too choose

for example:

Sennheiser HD 558     $131.26

Asus ASUS Xonar DX 7.1 Channel PCI Express Sound Card. XONAR DX CHANNEL PCIE 24BIT 7.1. AV100 PCI Express $126.24

 

I Really dont know there are alot of Asus sound cards and soo many variants on the headphones

I heard there is going to come out new sound cards from asus but I havent seen any new cards

what you guys think?

Sennheiser's HD 558 isn't closed, so I'm confused as to what you're looking for.

 

With a budget like yours, I'd highly suggest an external sound solution over an internal soundcard.

Hey if you want to waste your money on a sound card that's up to him. All we can do is recommend products to him/her.

 

For closed headphones you should look at DT770 250 ohm.

 

You can find a pair for roughly $160.

 

There are many problems with sound cards, and you can find them out by reading the FAQ at the top of the audio forum.

 

For an external solution if you want to go cheap, you can pick up a fiio product.

 

If you want to upgrade to a better solution, you can pick up the o2 with or without ODAC.
