How good does PS3 games look when using a HDMI to DVI-D Cable to a Monitor?

I plan on using this method however is there any real difference between how it'll look on a 1280x1024 monitor than a HD TV Besides not being able to display 1080p?

A lot of the games are 720p upscaled to 1080p anyway.

So basically the only difference is a few textural changes?

Dunno, I don't own a console, but you can play around with it and have the PS3 output 1080p and have the monitor downscale, or just have the PS3 output native 720p and see which looks better.

It should / would look the same.

You would think exclusives would be 1080p. Nope. Last of Us is 720p

I can't comment on how it would look at that specific resolution, but I'd assume It'd look fine. I've been using my Xbox on my monitor recently (1080p) and I haven't noticed anything strange.
