My last two headsets broke in exactly the same way and i need something something that can take a beating. I am not particularely careful, nether am i rough but my last two headsetsgot sectionned at the point where the headband meets the earpiece. i am looking for closed headphones, do not care about presence or absence of wires. At this point i care more about resilience than actual sound quality, i dont have a lot of budget so i would like something under 60$ (CAD), if possible but if it cant be made i could go up to 100$ (CAD)

Headset (as in gaming headset) or Headphones (as in music listening) ?

My personal Fav for gaming under $100 is the plantronics gamecom 780 just for the mic quality and soundscape. For a gaming headset they don't sound half bad. I have had mine for years and haven't been able to break them.

For music listening (you will have heard this before) ATH M50X are my favs. Good soundscape, aluminium construction and removeable cable so that you won't break it anymore. :P

I have the Razer Krakens you can't really wear them for extended periods and the mic quality so so. (if you're thinking about getting those)

there is like 10% aluminium in the m50x, the rest is cheap plastic.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

The point I'm making is that they are hard to break.

nope because the plastic is really cheap.

List of what wrong with them

cheap materials

bad sound quality for the price

no soundstage and I really mean no soundstage.

claims to be studio headphones, but their frequency responce looks like a ski slope

over priced for what you get.

bad pads

meh comfort

if you change the pads to none stock you better make sure you take that layer foam between the driver and your ear from the old pads to the new once or they kill your ears.
