Specs: AMD FX6300 (Stock cooled)
Mobo: MSI 760 GM P-23(FX)
GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 750ti
PSU: XFX TS450

before I got my new case and PSU, my CPU kept hitting 255C (says HWmonitor64) in games.
Which brought CPU throttling and massive fps drops along with it.

Now I enabled AMD Cool N Quiet and I ran 3DMark FireStrike (only a score of 4000+ dont laugh)
and played BF4 for an hour. Now my CPU jumped around between a frosty 39-38C with the maximum being 41.1C.

Is my problem finally solved?

i read the title of this post and im already expecting to see this software in here

make sure you're monitoring the correct things, and i suggest using msi afterburner or coretemps instead of this dreadful software lol

your cpu will probably be on fire if it was running at that temp :D

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

There's no way in hell it could've been that high. Your computer had to of been smoking at least. Must be a glitch.

thats a bug

255C would melt your CPU and instantly kill it

also 255 is the highest 8 bit number, which makes it obvious that this is a bug and not real

Ok ok, I should have stated that I know my PC never could've hit 255C. My problem is the lag spike that comes along with it. What can be the problem? Overheating VRM? Socket? Bad PSU? Also, AMD overdrive reports temps like 10C at idle, and -10 under load...
