THe 598's have a larger sound stage and  kinda better sound quality but m50 has lots of bass,

in my opinion i would go for 598's its more bang for your buck

Unless you NEED the bass, Sennheiser 598. Even if you "NEED" the bass, you might still go with the 598. The open design will give you a better sound stage, and will generally be better across the board.

As another note, I often see Head-Fi-ers talk people down from the 598's to the 558's because the SQ delta is apparently small. I will let those people speak for themselves, but it is something to keep in mind.

And by the way, the M50's are great, and I would totally recommend them if you need isolation. The X version is supposed to sound a little better, but more importantly, it comes with three interchangable cables, offering more versatility than its older brother.

Not fast enough response, need speed and excitement.
