Get a 390X.

If you have the CPU to deal with CF driver overhead, dont mind only having 3GB of VRAM and don't mind the frame time stutter and the games that don't support CF. go with the 7970s

If you don't have a high end CPU, want more VRAM and like a smooth experience 390x

i have a i5 4690k and one 7970 reference card

7970 CF = slightly better performance in games that both support and scale well with it.

 

7970 CF = Only 3gb of VRAM, Heat output like a fire, quietness of a Boeing 747, worse performance in most games.

 

390x = Better performance in most games, extremely smooth gameplay experience, less heat, not as loud. 8gb of VRAM

 

390x is better.
