well if the games you play run at over 144fps then sure get a 144hz monitor if you want

you dont NEED it...60hz is just fine though

2560×1440 is called 2.5K (2K is 1080p-class resolutions) but yes the 980 Ti is a good match for that. In demanding games at max settings you probably won't get 144 fps with a single 980 Ti, but it shouldn't be too difficult if you turn down the game settings a bit, or play less intensive games. Choice is up to you really, depends on what kind of games you play most of the time.

Not without turning down settings quite a bit in newer titles. Even with some older titles.

it really is meant for 4k so at 2K it should max out all graphics settings for the foreseeable future, and yes 144hz should run great but 60hz is still fine
