Hi. i have been looking for a good quality usb microphone, mostly for personal reasons, as i won't use it for streaming nor recording music. i were thinking of a Blue Snowflake, but i saw it costs 50 dollar extra in my country, and that made me loos all the interest as i would get the snowball cheaper from all the sellers i could find compared to the few that were selling the Snowflakes.

so i were looking up some info about the snowball and the snowball ice, i wasn't happy with what others had to say about it. i kept looking for other usb mics on the market, i heard a lot about the Blue Yeti. i mostly agreed with what the others had to say about the Yeti, but at the same time, the price of the yeti is above my price range.

i went back listening at the snowball, i still wasn't sure that i would be satisfied with the snowball, so i was looking for a pair of new cans as i still was searching for a replacement for those as well. i were thinking awhile back that i would pick up a HyperX cloud 2 down the line, but i never did.

then to the question i wanna ask to you guys, what would you have done in my shoes ? would you go for the snowball and adjust it to your liking, Go with the Cloud 2s for now and think about a standalone mic later or would you go with something else ? i'm open for all suggestions.

I have a Blue Snowball that I currently use, but as of right now, literally, I am looking for a good audio interface to replace it. I really recommend that you watch the video below, if you want. But I'll give you my experience with the snowball first.

First thing I notice the very first time I tried to record with it is that, the gain is very low, now that maybe because I'm just a quiet talker but still, I got it place on the desk mount with half-feet away from my mouth (slightly below) and it's still has a low-volume, and I'm talking about the raw recordings here BTW so no editing happened whatsoever. Just Open Audacity, click record, speak and play. And I'll tell you THAT IS THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS MIC. It has a very low gain. Other thing you wanna know, watch some review on youtube because they're, so far, accurate in my opinion. I can and would still use it in recordings coz I can edit the audio after but in livestreaming, I just can't use it because I really need to be shouting to be able to livestream on this thing. Now watch the video.
