Youbetternot

Dell Home offers the factory-refurbished Dell XPS 8500 Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7 3.4GHz Desktop PC for $675. (Click on "XPS" under "Outlet Desktops" on the left, then select "XPS 8500" on the left to find a list of models.) Coupon code "SXCW7JC22HMJ45" makes it $575. With free shipping, that's $125 under our July mention and the best price we've seen for a Dell XPS 8500 desktop with 16GB RAM. (It's also the second-best price we've seen for any XPS 8500; we saw a similar build with 12GB RAM for $495 shipped last month.) It features an Intel Core i7-3770 3.4GHz Ivy Bridge quad-core processor, 16GB RAM, 2TB 7200 rpm hard drive, NVIDIA Geforce GT620 1GB graphics card, DVD burner, 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth 4.0, Gigabit Ethernet, media card reader, keyboard, mouse, and Windows 8 64-bit. A 1-year Dell warranty applies.

That's a pretty good price, albeit the motherboard and the PSU might not be all that great. Just buy a GPU and you can be on your merry way.

If I had the dough I'd buy it right now, but I need a new car.

This is why I got a asus pc, because asus makes good boards so a simple case swap new psu and a a 660 and I found a loophole in my parents scheme of how I can't build my own computer

yeah what i'd do is up the psu gpu mobo and case. those upgrades are pretty simple and relatively cheap and can boost the performance and also you get a killer rig

Still over priced

I do think it is, they have an i7, 16gb ram and a 80+ gold 430w psu. I think its not overpriced.

You can get all that for about 700 the reason it is overpriced is because there was something wrong with it

GT620...what can you play with that other than solitaire?

Put it in something old or give it to someone you know. It'd be better than onboard graphics in older systems, which would be great for my parents when watching Hulu/netflix/Youtube.

The motherboards in prebuilts are always horrible looking and have hardly any expansion. From my experience anyway.

The outlet is for orders that were cancelled. I know this because I did work experience in an Dell office. Learned quite a lot, dell have a weird way of dealing with problems, if a pc is broken then the thing is crushed and then melted into metal. The outlet from the source that I have says that they sell pcs that are still working but were returned or canceled.

I would never £150 + to replace the oem board, hell im using one right now(had to give the gigabyte to my brother) and the cheapest nice looking board with is expensive and a new cooler and maybe thermal paste as Dell currently uses fans on a tilted axis. Afterthat you might encounter problems with windows as it is tied to the motherboard. its too much hassle in my opinion and it money that doesnt need to be wasted. In that respect you are just better off not getting this as your basically paying $500 for a i7 and 16gb ram
