Hello everyone. It is the 1st time that I am posting here in order to get my baby. During these days I asked for you to give me your sincerely oppinion about how was going on my actual suggestion of a Gaming Desktop. I googled very hard, asked many questions and a build came out. So what I will show it's all the parts that I think it will fit my needs for gaming. I live in The Netherlands, and I must say that it was hard to find a good store to purchase the parts that I want. I know I could pick them online, but I prefer to buy them on the store, even if I have to wait like 3 days for things to arrive. Here is the link so that you can see pretty much how it will be: My Gaming Desktop

I must say that I will buy these components in a store, in Rotterdam, named: MyCom and here is theyr website: MyCom.

I found that some of the components that I'll purchase, here they don't exist or I just didn't pay close attention. So I'll refer here, the true name of the components like the GPUPSU and CASE. I changed aswell, the prices of components, so what you will see, is the MyCom website prices.

  • PSU - Corsair CX600M
  • GPU - Sapphire HD7950 with Boost, 3GB
  • CASE - Corsair Carbide 500R

And that's it, I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I am enjoying building it and all what envolves it. Btw, I'll build it in a week :) Don't forget to let me know your oppinion about this Gaming Desktop.

What kind of games will you be playing?

Just get a 4570k (because you can). Get 1TB instead of 500GB, it's almost wasting money to not get that. Also, Get a Hyper 212 EVO for a better cooler. Good luck.

i5 4670k | Sapphire 7950 | Kingston 120GB SSD | Seagate 1TB | G.Skill Ripjaw X Series 8GB

PB238Q | Steelseries Sensei | Ducky DK9087 | Qck Heavy

Wait for 9000 or R9 series from AMD.

Everything else is looking good.

Thanks! I kinda want to wait for it but if the price range will be like more 100Eur I won't buy them. On other hand I can wait to next week and see if the price of this GPU drops nicely :b

I'd get a better PSU, the CX line has coil whine. I think XFX has a good PSU around that price.

K series CPU?And maybe wait for 9XXX series. Otherwise it's all good.

I would, but the store doesn't have that one. It only haves 4670 and 4670K. And I can't go further on CPU prince range ( mine prince range )

I will do a RAID-0 2x 500GB but that is only next month ;)

I'll play Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, F1 2013, League of Legends and Diablo III. I am also a big fan of 1080p Movies so :)

Budget?

I'd get a better PSU, the CX line has coil whine. I think XFX has a good PSU around that price.

The store that I am buying doesn't have partnership with XFX. But u think that this will cost me money for the future, I mean, is it really bad ?

The cx series does not necessarily have coil whine.

You're better off just getting a larger drive from the start.

This is at 900Eur at the moment, and I really don't want to extend it more, since I need to save some money for a good keyboard and headphones aswell. So 900Eur is my actual budget ;)

Yeah, I guess I'll be doing that, but i can't extend really much those 900Eur available for this building as I told you.

It won't really cost you money in the future, it'd just be an annoying noise. Of course not all CX line of PSUs have it.

Alright. Here's what I came up with from the site:

34797c7f23e30418eaaf5763ad777849.png

Replace the Evo and case's stock fans with Sickleflows. 2 front intake and 1 rear exhaust. Just remove the Evo and case's stock fans and keep them if you ever need them later.

You can get a beast for €900. Prices in EU are roughly the same, you can get FX8320, cheapest 990FX board, 8GB RAM, Hyper 212 EVO, HD7950, 1TB HDD, 120GB SSD, 750W PSU and a nice case (Corsair 300R) for the price.

My rig: CPU: Intel core i5 4670K MoBo: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming RAM: Kingston HyperX Beast 2x4GB 1600mhz CL9 GPU: EVGA GTX780 SC ACX SSD: ADATA Premier Pro SP900 256GBHDD: Western Digital RED 2TB PSU: FSP Aurum CM 750W Case: Cooler Master HAF XM OS: Windows 8 Pro

Thankyou for your help!

But why do you think I should go for this instead the one that I choose? I mean, Will I gain performance?

And Will I be able to upgrade it a year from now ? Does that CPU maintain the performance and speeds that 4570 has?

:)

I chose the cpu because it's quite a bit cheaper and only 0.2 ghz slower. You won't even notice it.

What I did will have the same performance as your list while being cheaper and quieter.

I don't think you'd need to upgrade in a year.

I'm thinking you'd be fine for at least a year or two before you need to upgrade your gpu.

Hello! Thankyou for your reply.

I must say that I am an Intel user for years and I do not know very much about amd cpu's, aswell as it mobo's. So, could you be more specific about what improvements I will have if I just go for a FX8320?

It is unlocked so you can OC freely, also the performance is similiar to i5 for less money. Motherboards are pretty good, I recommend Gigabyte GA990FXA-UD3.

Hmm, I see your point. I could save like 50Eur on that build and still have more things like coolers and stuff.

I mean, the big question that I am doing right now is, what if I had these two on front of me, which one would I pick? Which one would you pick?

On one hand, we have a 860Eur Gaming machine, which seems pretty nice, with cheaper components that can easely do the job. CPU is a bit lower in speed, something that I won't notice, in your words. GPU is pretty much the same. Motherboard ( i honestly don't know about this module). I didn't like the case, but that's my point of view eheh.

On the other hand we have a better CPU for more ( 10 Eur ), have a motherboard that has more features and the possibility to overclock easier.

Hard, very hard xD But if I have to choose right now, I would go for my components, and maybe would switch the storage from yours components, also the PSU.

The cpu won't oc much because it's locked and there's no aftermarket cooler. You'd have to get a 4670k and a better cooler to make it worth your while.

So, I made 3 simulations with almost the same components at the same prices. And I wonder which one will I buy:

1# - http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/1G3oa (This is the one that is in the topic, the one that I choose at first place before posting here).

2# - http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/1GbXz (One that a guy suggested here)

3# - http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/1Gc7e ( Your suggestion).

(Just ignore that case that will be a Corsair 500R and that PSU)

I'm in a dilema, cuz both of them have similar peripherals and all that stuff, but for which one should I move my eyes?
