Im looking to do a CPU/Motherboard/Ram upgrade in the future from my AMD FX-9590 with 24gb of ddr3 to something intel based with ddr4 ram (i do pc builds for friends and they enjoy buying my used parts which allows me to upgrade every once in a while). I use my pc mostly for 3D modeling with autodesk programs such as revit, Rendering with programs like Lumion, and editing with adobe photoshop and indesign. My question here is if i would benefit any from moving over to intel (other than my massive TDP of my processor now at 220w) and if i should go with a xeon or an i7. The 2 ive been comparing are the Xeon E3-1275 v5 Skylake and the i7 6700K skylake. Also, im not TOO worried about budget but id like to keep it under $400 (USD) for JUST the CPU.

Assuming you're living in America, go Haswell-E. You should be able to find a i7 5820K for around the same price as a i7 6700K. Its six cores and twelve threads make it a better choice over both your proposed CPUs.

I can safely say that a hyperthreaded CPU from Intel will beat out that FX-9590 in multithreaded workloads.

If you want the best bang for the buck, you might what to get a pair of Intel Xeon E5-2670's. Two of them beat out a i7-5960X in multi threaded work loads. You can buy a pair used for $140. However since you want DDR4 ram that is not an option. I would say go with a i7 out the two options.

GPU: XFX RX 7900 XTX

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

I would probably get the i7 6700k so i could overclock and get better performance.

If you dont plan on overclocking i would just get whichever was cheaper because the specs are so similar (except clock speed).

6700k isn't the best option for modeling, i would go for 2 xeon e5 2670s with a dual socket board. Best for its price point

I would go with the 5820K if you want DDR4 but if you can deal with DDR3 I would go with a pair of Xeon E5 2670s. I have a single 2670 in my system right now and I love it.

Those motherboards are quite expensive :I

That is true but even with the motherboard cost factored in these are probably the best bang for your buck workstation CPUs.
