Hi,

I'm torn between the two builds that I'm planning. I'm on tight budget and I made some compromises for the builds that I'll present today. Please also note that I'm only limited to parts that are available in the Philippines.

Build 1

I chose the i5-6500 Skylake because I'll be using this rig for gaming and a little of software development.

MoBo MSI B150M PRO VDH - 4XDDR4 Skylake 5460
CPU Intel Core i5.6500 3.2 6mb up to 3.6Ghz Skylake 9780
GPU MSI R9 280 GAMING 3GB DDR5 384BIT 9900
PSU FSP RAIDER 550W 80+ SILVER POWER SUPPLY 2995
Case AEROCOOL GT-A BLK GAMING CASE 2800
Storage KINGSTON 120GB HYPERX FURY SOLID STATE DRIVE 2600
RAM F4-2400C15D-16GVR 3850
  Total(PHP) 37385

Build 2

This one's a no brainer. Budget gaming CPU with a lot of GPU power. Though I'm still asking MSI Philippines' Facebook page regarding the GPU's availability.

MoBo MSI B150M PRO VDH - 4XDDR4 Skylake 5460
CPU Intel Core i3.6100 3.7Ghz 3mb Skylake  5700
GPU MSI R9 380 4GB 256bit 12000
PSU FSP RAIDER 550W 80+ SILVER POWER SUPPLY 2995
Case Tecware Raiden Elite 1400
Storage KINGSTON 120GB HYPERX FURY SOLID STATE DRIVE 2600
RAM F4-2400C15D-16GVR 3850
  Total (PHP) 34005

Guys! Help me choose please!

EDIT: Okay. After a few replies and corrections on my planning phase, turns out my budget is still good to get an i5-6500 and an R9 380.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600k 4.4GHz | Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z270F Gaming | Cooler: Cryorig H7 | RAM: GSkill Ripjaws V 8GB 2x4 3200 MHz | GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X | PSU: Seasonic G-550w 80+ Gold Certified, Semi Modular | Storage: 250GB Samsung 850 EVO, 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue | Case: NZXT S340 Elite (Black/Red) | Monitor: BenQ XL2411 144hz | Keyboard: Corsair STRAFE RGB Cherry MX Silent | Mouse: Corsair M65 Pro RGB

I'd like to make a Chemistry joke, but all the good ones ARGON. *nudgenudge *winkwink

Okay my bad. I thought I saw an R9 390 on your thread being paired with the i3-6100. Changing it to R9 380. LOL.

After further research I agree, I stand corrected.

What is your budget? About 37,500 PHP?

That equates to around 800 USD. With that money, you can easily fit this part list.

Now I'm aware the exact parts may or may not be available in your country, but try to get similar quality parts, or at least similar specification components, if you cannot find the same or equivalent parts in your market.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

You're going to want the i5 + 280, the 280 will be fine compared to the 380, but the i5 gives you a pretty sizable boost in performance over the i3.

Otherwise look for a power supply from EVGA(GQ or G2 series), XFX(not XT series), Corsair(non builder/CX), or anything from seasonic or super flower.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Actually, that was my MoBo, I put the DDR4 to remind myself that the MoBo does support DDR4.

Another question for everyone. Is there any major difference between the Sapphire and MSI versions of the R9 380? Other than the Sapphire costs less than MSI's?
