Aircooled Crossfire

Kaxlene

I am currently attempting to figure out ways to make it so my crossfire setup will run a tad cooler without me needing to run the fans at 70-80% just to keep the first card from going over 75C

I was curious if anyone has had any luck with getting their crossfire/sli setups to run at a cooler rate without having to hear the fans through their headphones

Some info:

•Cards: (2) XFX R9 390

•Case: NZXT S340

•Fans: (2) Corsair 140mm intake [front], (2) Corsair 120mm exhaust [back and top]

(sorry for the image size)

This was actually on a budget D;

dont really have anything left to do a $500 loop

then... I see only 1 possible way without geting watercooling or some other shit... make a tube from the front fan of the case to the gpus.. so you can direct more airflow there... I have no other idea xD... thats the problem with having more than 1 gpu.. they are too close toghether.. and the top one cant breathe...soo..

Are those corsair 140mm fans the AF versions? You want the most airflow in this situation as you're trying to get as much fresh air for the GPUs. If you can add a side fan on your side panel, do it as it will directly blow fresh air onto the cards.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

I did, it only took slightly longer to reach 75C at the same fan speed D:

They are the AF 140s, and this case doesn't allow me to do a panel fan unless i remove the panel... but Arizona and no side panels don't mix.....

Hrm...higher airflow fans or ghetto mounting a fan inside the case right next to the GPUs?

well all i can suggest is maybe buy a more spacious case or

strap a fan right next to the gpus, blowing air directly into the gap between the two

Seriously, it's more than fine :P My 290 gets to 80 deg C and it can run up to 94 before thermal throttling.

Guess I can not be so paranoid about 75C xD

Ive tried this out and it does keep me from hitting 75... at 74 xD

But I think ill invest in noctua fans since i noticed they move way more air then my AF140s

Ah, fair enough...good luck with your quest to lower your GPU temps (btw, replacing the thermal paste of them may help to reduce temps..)

Fair enough, I may have the balls for something but not everyone does and in this case, it's replacing thermal paste...
