New SSD boot dive not seen

Ddraig_goch

I've just upgraded from a Samsung EVO 250Gb ssd boot drive to the 500Gb version. I cloned the 250 ssd using the Samsung software but now when I switch on the computer it goes straight to the BIOS and can't see the new boot drive. If I disable CMS in the BIOS and restart, the boot dive appears and boots. But the next time I start I get the same problem. The problem reappears regardless of if I go back into the BIOS on start up and re-enable CMS, or if I allow it to boot up normally. Going back into the BIOS on restart and labelling the 500Gb ssd as the boot disc does not stop the problem reoccurring. Does anyone know what is wrong?

In other words, do not clone the drive.

Do a fresh install of windows, reinstall your programs and transfer saves and documents to the new install. Wipe the old one to use as storage.
