CPU not being use to max ?

Go to solution Solved by clementk,

lol i feel so silly at the moment i found the problem. It was the program that i get with the laptop to configure the keyboard backlights and wifi and bluetooth and all that good stuff i forgot that it also has control over the CPU. when i reinstalled it i must have accentually enabled Low Power mode -,- so it would over write all the other programs until i used Throttilstop.

HI,

I really need help i have a laptop with a intel i7 3630QM that is suppose to have a clock of 2.4 with 3.2 turbo.I started to realize that my games started to lag and after much truble shooting i realized that it was my CPU that was runing on 50% and only on 1.18Ghz i then downloaded intel burn in test as well as prime95 and ran them and still maxing on 50% with 1.18Ghz.

I really have no idea how i can fix this or what to do Please if someone can tell me if they know what to do and how to fix it :(

In the bios of this laptop there is nothing to configure on CPU only virtulazation.

Did you set max performance?

Thanks for fast replay but it was not one of those two thing .... temps stade in 50's with stress tests.

i downloaded a program called throttilstop and ran that and then got it to 2.8Ghz but that was not that problem..

I derided to go make sure that my power options was on max performance and when i want in it was... but then i thought lets try to put in on balance and when i did that it jumped to 3.2 ghz again without the help of the program. but when i set to max agiain then it dint go down again maby it was just something wrong with windows. settings i don't know but its fixed

Just wanted to reply to my Post. it seems like its was not windows or maybe windows is still the problem but it seems to be the Low Power mode of the CPU that does not want to turn off and when i used the Throttilstop Program that it made it go back to normal and when i changed the power profile that it then could go up. still not completely sure what is going on maybe some drive as it just started with it yesterday will need to look into it more maybe try fresh new windows installation.

seems to need to run the program every time i restart windows really starting to but me >_< please if someone know what the problem can be
