As per my earliest post today-

https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/583713-risk-of-damage-lazy-computer-moving/

I am moving and will be sending my baby (PC) off before I leave. They will leave me with atleast a week to as much as 3 weeks without a computer. I am also a cable cutter so I use my PC for all my at home entertainment (including science work). So I was thinking of getting a laptop that will serve as a surrogate for now and, when I'm finally reunited with my real child, as a spare computer for basic browsing.

I was searching through amazon and found the Asus Vivobook e200ha and it had decent reviews. Is this my best option? Or do you have better recommendations? My MAX budget is $200 but lower is better if the performance hit isn't bad. Or am I better off  just buying a $100-150 tablet since its mainly for video watching use.

Needs

  • Basic web browsing (news, articles, etc.)
  • Video streaming
  • Light Weight
  • Costs -$200
  • Preferably Windows OS

Maybe a chromebook?

I prefer windows lol (just revised my 'needs')

And apparently based off reviews, this Asus one is pretty close to their chromebook at similar price. If that's true I rather go with Windows (or Android if I go the tablet route)

For 200$, you can get yourself a X220, which will easily outperform Atom notebooks and even most Ultrabooks. Most importantly though, it's a much higher quality machine built from composite metals and designed to be tough. It can be upgraded extensively and offers one of the best notebook keyboards. With the 6c battery, it will last 4-6h and weigh 1,4Kg. Some configurations also have a 12,5" IPS screen.

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong one but all I can find are refurb and 3rd party options.
