2 Pin fan connectors

Afranqui

Hey all. I recently bought a GTX 970 hybrid and was looking to replace the stock fan that comes with the external aio liquid cooler. Upon looking at the fan i noticed that it was a 2 pin connector. I modified the connector to accept a 4 pin but that fan would not turn on. Could a non PWM fan (a 3 pin) work with a two pin adapter? Also what is a two pin fan? I tried looking on other sites but I didn't find a website that explained it well to me. Thanks

2 pin doesnt have that yellow

just gnd and vdc

move the fan over one and it should work

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

why not just use a header on your motherboard to control it?

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

It will be controlled by CPU temps not GPU temps then

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

I have an extra noctua fan that i was planning on sticking at 75% to see if that would be enough to keep it cool under load. The stock fan is just really loud.

Doesn't work, since there's no feedback of the fan rpm. My Asus board doesn't even detect it and it ran at full speed all the time.

you can change the header to dc control instead of pwm in the bios

Could do, if only the fan would've gotten detected. Which it didn't in my case.

Can't, I'm abroad. But I think I tried and it didn't work like that with the 2 pin.

That's what I did in the end, with EK Vardars.
