Can CD/DVDR Drives Read CD/DVDRW Discs but not Write to them?

Appleboy45

I won't be surprised if they can't, but can I CD/DVDR drive read CD/DVDRW discs. But the only difference is that the drive can't write to these discs?

Yes, most regular drives can read the discs but not write. There were (back in da day) a lot of issues with the whole +R vs -R disc format and certain drives manufactured by various companies wouldn't read one or the other. But I do believe that is pretty much a non-issue with modern drives.

Also a Blu-Ray reader (or RW) drive can read any DVD disc just as well.
