I will soon be getting a new GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0, to replace my fossil of a GPU (an MSI GT 440), and I had a question about how I must set things up. My system has an EVGA SuperNova 750 B2, and as I've noticed, the GPU has an 8-pin and a 6-pin power ports. The modular cables that came with my PSU are two 6-pin or 8-pin connectors. Due to the processor and MB I currently have (an i5 3330 and an Asus P8B75-M/CSM) I won't be overclocking anytime soon, but I want to make sure I connect it properly. Should I get power though both the 6-pin and 8-pin ports? Or will either of them suffice?

Thanks for the help!

Congrats on the upgrade. You should use both pins, won't work with just one of them.

Also, you can overclock just the video card easily and should notice a performance upgrade. Your CPU is good for at least couple years from now and your PSU is good quality and more than OK for overclocking a 970 (I overclocked mine on a 620W Seasonic PSU and works just fine).

Plug both 8 and 6 pin connectors.

Your PC will not be that power thirsty, i'm using an Asus GTX 970 with a G650M PSU from Cooler Master, it provides enough juice.
