Audio Interpolation

Go to solution Solved by Volbet,

You can, but the audio quality will at best remain the same and the file size will increase.

I don't really see a reason to do it, but you can.

You could load all your 128kbps files into Audacity and then export them as 256kbps files.

I've been cleaning up my music library during the past few days, tagging songs, putting everything into a single (mp3) format, and that brought to me a though: is it possible to interpolate music in much the same way you can video?

Like can software "average" between samples, to, for example, convert a 128kbps to a 256kbps song?

Sure, if you've a touch of the OCD and want every song to have an identical bitrate, you probably can. However, you won't see any improvement in audio quality.

You can export something as a higher bitrate file using conversion software like Switch or Audacity, but you'll only be increasing file size.
