Building a new gaming pc. Picked out most of the parts but need a little help with the case and PSU.

Parts:

CPU: Intel Core i7 6700k

GPU: Nvidia GTX 980 Ti

MOBO: Asus Z170-A

RAM: G Skill Ripjaws V 16GB (2x8)

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 1TB

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

Fans: Noctua NF-F12

OS: Windows 10

Extensive budget.

Looking for an all black case, with excellent air flow and SILENT.

A windowed side panel is nice but if having a solid side panel will make it quieter that's preferred.

I want to be able to run it while I'm asleep and have as little hum as possible.

Sleek modern design preferred (nothing crazy).

And for the PSU whatever's good!

Thanks!

Sounds like you want a Define S and an EVGA 650W GS!

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I see the Define S as a R5 with no 5.25''' bays and moving the 3.5 HDD to the side (and reducing the amount of them to 3) to make room for liquid reservoirs.

I have a R5. The rack zone is well insulated and even if you use a couple of HDD for big storage capacity the case will remain silent. OTOH, if your PSU, CPU or graphic card are noisy, you will hear them because of the back grill.

What advantages does the Define S have over the Define R5?

It's cheaper, and that's about it. Doesn't have an optical drive and had fewer storage options in the pursuit of water cooling. I believe you can remove all those things that come pre-taken out for you in the S in the R5.

You can but the divider on the R5 isn't full panel so you can't hide hdds behind the main section of the case. Imho it also looks really trashy seeing straight back to the other side panel.

Oh a few more things, the R5 has a quieter but much  more restrictive front panel (not quite H440 bad but close. And the Define S isn't loud). It also has a smaller/worse window compared to the S.

The trade off is you gain the insane drive support of the R5 along  with the included fan controller.  You also pay more.

Your choice really (I obviously prefer the S)
