You should get the EVGA 500B while there's a rebate over at NCIX. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-100b10500kr

Alternatively, the XFX XT 500 is a bit better built. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1500bxtfr

So i have a gigabyte R9 280x windforce as well as an a10 7800 quad core 3.5 ghz apu and i know its not the best processor but its great for my needs... Anyways, is this

RAIDMAX XT series RX-500XT 500W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply

Good enough for what i want to do? Can it support this system reliably without frying anything for a few years? im in canada an im looking to buy a psu around 50$ or 75$ if i have too so if you think this PSU is bad can you find me a good one at that budget for CANADA?

These are the recommended PSU anything from this list will do.

Tier One
The highest quality and most stable Power Supply Units available. Protected by industrial grade protection circuitry and can output wattage at a rated maximum temperature of 50°C or below. These units are also Haswell certified, meaning they can cope with the C6 and C7 sleep states of 0.05Amps without triggering the under-current protection switch. May even go over labelled wattage and still work until it safely shuts down.

Corsair CX500M is a MUCH better alternative. Poorly built power supplies (and I haven't heard many good things about Raidmax) can actually catch fire or explode, taking other components with it.

"Not breaking it or making it worse is key."

"Bad choices make good stories."

Incorrect, cx is a tier 4.

Tier Four

Built down to a low price. Not exactly the most stable units ever created. Very basic safety circuitry or even thin gauge wiring used. Not for gaming rigs or overclocking systems of any kind. Avoid unless your budget dictates your choice.

I would opt for a brand new 500B than a refurbished 600B. Get the 500W version if you can

So 500W is enough for this build? and yeah lemme check for a 500B

Yes, 500W is definitely enough. This shouldn't pull more than 350W at load.

That is a teir three, my recommendation would get a teir 1 or 2, not saying there a bad psu but there is better like the g2. G2 starts at about $89

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

Thats a little bit expensive for me... Listen i dont plan on doing any overclocking and i play light games like world of warcraft, so is the 500b my best option at that CAD pricepoint?

Tier Three

Some Haswell compatible, some not (maybe unconfirmed). Still safe to use and stable, just lower quality components. Not really ideal in serious overclocking or super-high load situations, such as a Bitcoin mining rig or a high end gaming system.

Your PSU is listed in this, just as @ONOTech has stated just don't push you psu to the max and youll be fine.

I doubt it will explode tomorrow(knock on wood), so I think instead trying to get the best less, save up and spend your money a power supply that is definitely better than what you have now, and not something isn't mediocre. Really shouldn't have to spend more than $100 without tax on something that will last a while. Also it might worthwhile checking the local classifieds to.
