I need a beast

Hi all,

 

I am currently building a workstation (a bit diffrent than the avarage workstation).

My workstation is ment for pure colorgrading with specialized software for it but i am a bit stuck on what video card to buy and i am limited due my software to 1 video card.

There is not special need for hdmi dvi etc outputs, all i need i the sickest video card you can imagine under 1000 bucks wich can give me 110% of it's power 24/7.

 

So far i have encountered a couple of things and now i am a bit stuck, i am pretty sure the kinda of gpu that will suit my needs the best are "Hybrid" GeForce GTX 980 TI's but so far i found 3 diffrent one's and i am a bit stuck on wich one is "the best".

(p.s. i am not buying any chinese hardware off ebay, i only buy things you can get at your official re-seller)

Look for the PowerColor Devil 13. They're about $700 on eBay. It's a dual core GPU, which are traditionally great for workstations. It's a rather large card and has a large  power draw but sincce you're only using one card that shouldn't be much of a problem.

perhaps you should consider a quadro for 10-bit colours and great reliability for 24/7 work, as for 110% performance, i dont recommend you overclock a working card

 

a 980ti will only help in certain applications, most of the time you wont even use half of its gpu horsepower

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

So it's a workstation, am I right?

I have limited knowledge of workstation work types and work loads, but I would recommend going for the FirePro W8100. Not very expensive, and should get the job done well.
