Win10 doesn't need anti-virus.

EDIT:

1. Fiance's Ipad -Its apple, doesn't need anti-virus

2. My Tablet (Windows 10) -Win10 has built in anti-virus

3. My Desktop (Windows 10) -Win10 has built in anti-virus

4. Her Desktop (Windows 10) -Win10 has built in anti-virus

5. My OnePlus (Android) -Put anti-virus on this if you oh so desire, though I personally wouldnt.

6. Her iPhone 6s Plus -Its apple, doesn't need anti-virus

7. Her Dad's iPad -Its apple, doesn't need anti-virus

8. My File Server (Windows 7) -Thoretically, it shouldn't need it if everything else is protected?

9. My Laptop (Windows 10) -Win10 has built in anti-virus

@ddbtkd456 As others have mentioned, Windows 10 has Windows Defender built into it for free. This is a decent AV that is very minimal, with very low system resource usage. It won't bug you unless there's a problem.

@HeyKitty I highly disagree with what you said on #8. Why leave one attack vector? If you're going to use Windows Defender on the Windows 10 machines, then you might as well use Microsoft Security Essentials on the Windows 7 machine. It's essentially the same program. They just renamed and merged it with Windows Defender (Which in Windows 7 is ONLY a basic adware/spyware scanner, but in Windows 8+ they merged it with MSE). Also, just because "It's Apple" doesn't mean anything. Mac OS X has tons of viruses now, and it's certainly not virus immune anymore (Not that it really ever was, aside from being protected due to being a low risk target). iOS has some basic protections, and due to the nature of the device, makes it more secure.

The iPad's and Android devices will likely be fine. iOS has basic protections against virus infection, as does Android.

Note: If the Android devices are rooted, or the iOS devices are Jailbroken, then all bets are off in terms of virus protections. Rooting/jailbreaking does make them more vulnerable.

So I would rather have something like a total protection then just a simple antivirus, currently I am using MicroTrend which works amazingly btw. Heres the problem with me adding two computers and a server to my network, and most recently a tablet, I don't have enough protection to go around.

Here are the devices:

1. Fiance's Ipad

2. My Tablet (Windows 10)

3. My Desktop (Windows 10)

4. Her Desktop (Windows 10)

5. My OnePlus (Android)

6. Her iPhone 6s Plus

7. Her Dad's iPad

8. My File Server (Windows 7)

9. My Laptop (Windows 10)

Is there any antivirus with total protection that offers up to 10 devices that will protect my devices? Or am I stuck dishing out 2 accounts to TrendMicro and $200 a year for it?

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

It has Windows Defender, plus it locks a lot of stuff down so programs can't edit certain things.

Remember, no amount of safety software can protect you 100%. You are sacrificing speed for protection.

I don't mind, I have some shady people in my neighborhood (kids) that have hacked my network more then once, I ended up white-listing all mac address on my network so they couldn't access it, even with the correct password, hmm...microsoft really got serious on security, well anyways what about norton they do offer up to 10 devices protected.

I mean, if you want to pay for norton, go ahead. I've never paid for protection, It's worth the risk to me.

I use Avast on all my Windows devices. Windows Defender is piss poor compared to the detection rate and features of the free version of Avast.

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

Eh...I don't mind paying...alright lets try something different here...assuming I am going to pay for one which would you choose? Going without it isnt really an option for me. I have tons of sensitive things on my pc that can not get into the wrong hands.

In avast, it is also in the settings menu.  If you don't avast will put a bunch of *not nice words here* all over your email saying it's safe...

Ah didn't know that thanks for the heads up, would you say this in combo window Windows Defender and Maleware bytes (free) and avast would be good protection as a paid verison?

If your Windows 7 file server can be accessed from outside, that is your biggest security liability right now. Other than that, just practicing good browsing habits and using script blocking plugins will save you from most attacks. I got a nasty virus when I was less careful about what sites I visited and what I downloaded. Since then I haven't had any infections (to my knowledge, at least).

I like norton, never had an issue with them, I don't trust any free software, I don't care who suggests it. There's always a reason why it's free. Also I get norton from amazon 10 devices is usually 30 bucks on sale most of the time. Lol my step dad used free Antivirus , I think it was avast, and I was over there in a week cuz his system was completely infected.....edit that was years ago tho..

Also keep in mind a lot if people giving advice on this forum are 15 lol

Had to drive home and eat.

I mean, that is a whole lot of protection.... You'd have to be trying to get a virus!

Avast free should be plenty. But I can't stop you if you really want to put three layers on... Just remember it WILL cost you system resources.

Eh my home server has a i5 6500 cpu, my desktop has a 5820k, and my fiance has a 6700k, i doubt any of those will struggle, the only one I'm worried about is my tablet which runs an atom processor by intel. Everything else should be good to go.

If you want a very cheap way to get an anti virus program, and a decent one. (Kaspersky is one of the best out there) Look it up on eBay since I cannot show links, but if you are good at math getting a 6 months for 3 devices will get you massive savings.
