Youtube only using ~6MBit

Hi, quick question, happy about any kind of input. On a freshly installed Firefox, when I watch videos on YT, I get buffering all over the place because a 1080p/60Hz clip is only loaded using a part of my connection (~6Mbit/s). When I try to increase the load, e.g. by downloading something on steam, it goes all the way up to the full 20MBit I pay for. Any idea what could cause this / why a website isn't able to utilize all of the bandwidth?

Your ISP is probably doing some funky business with youtube.

Oh, right sorry, I forgot to mention: it works flawlessly in Chrome. Plus, in the age of streaming, that kind of ISP would#ve been my ISP only for a very limited time ^^

 

@AlexTheRose Sorry, missed your comment since we posted simultaneously. Thanks for the detailed Explanation. I was thinking about getting a VPM for a different use case, but since the problem only occurs in one specific browser, I hardly think its due to shaping, since both browsers should classify video stream packages of the same site similarly?
