Bottleneck question?

My friend has asked me if his cpu and gpu are being bottlenecked?

 

Cpu:Athlon x4 860k oc to 4.4ghz

Gpu: Amd r7 240 2gb (Lol) 

 

Whilst I'm here is my system being bottlenecked?

Cpu: Intel i5 4670k oc to 4.2ghz

Gpu ASUS strix gtx 960 2gb

i5's wont bottleneck any gpu unless it's crysis, arma or gta 5 (all rare)

x4 860k won't bottleneck that gpu.

You can probably get away with it. GTX 950 would be safer.

Id rather have a 960 bottlenecked with potentially more performance, than a 950 that will always have worse performance

And 860K will hamper the performance of a 380 in modern games significantly.

That's what I always tell people. I even used an Athlon X4 750K @4,5gHz with a GTX 970 for a month, and it was much, much better than using a GTX 660 with it, despite the CPU bottlenecking it quite a bit

Exactly a bottleneck LIMITS your performance but does not degrate it, you just wont be getting 100% out of your GPU

but you can easily buy a top GPU now and upgrade the rest

only on a R9 390 bottlenecks will start to show with that Athlon x4 860k
