Speedfan is taking the piss - help needed

SaladFingers

I'm trying to set a fan curve for two of my fans based on GPU temperature. What I've done:

I've set min-max values under "Speeds" tab.

I've set the fan curves under "Fan Control" tab.

I've changed the warning for GPU temp to several values.

Now, I am running into major problems which make no sense at all:

1) While the fan curves work for min temps and rpms, whenever the temperature raises under usage, speedfan completely ignores my fan curve and just shoots them to 100%.

2) That 100% jump doesn't even respect my curve, it is actually based on the "Warning" setting. Raised it to 70C from default, fans stay at their minimum setting then once it hits 70C they jump to 100%.

3) As if above problems weren't enough, after rebooting the computer one of the two fans can't be controlled anymore. Just stuck on the manual setting from the motherboard and I can only change it from MSI command center. Before restart both had the same buggy behavior described in 1 and 2.

edit: 4) Oh yeah the min-max values from "Speeds" tab are also completely ignored.

Am I missing something here guys? Either speedfan is really unreliable and buggy, or there is some conflict somewhere, or I'm doing something wrong.

Edit 2: Ignore the 1 fan not being able to be configured. I haven't ticked "remember it" for it somehow (where you choose manual), so it's my fault.

2. That's how the warning setting works. The fan goes to 100% when that temp is reached.

The fans should ramp up to your max speed until the desired temp is reached. The rate of ramping up is the delta setting in the options tab.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

Hey, thanks for the reply. After lots of trial and error, I eventually figured it all out. Weird thing is that using speedfan to lower fans connected on the "system_fan" port won't go bellow 40%, they will just shut off :/ MSI CC could easily get them down to 25%. Oh well, I got it working like I want so I guess it's alright.
