1tb or 2tb?

Bondy3

Im currently using a 180gb SSD to boot and I have another 250gb drive that I use for additional storage,  I have been really cramped for storage for a long time and I finally am pulling the trigger to upgrade.

should I get a 1tb or a 2tb drive?    the cost of the 2tb drive is THREE times the cost of the 1tb drive.   I was leaning towards 1tb for this reason and I feel like even 1tb is enough to really stretch my legs in storage compared to what ive been using (I would keep my 250gb drive as well)

should I "go big or go home" and get the 2tb drive, or should I just get what I know I will want to use now and go with the 1tb drive thats on sale?

for reference,  this is the 1tb drive

Well i think there is no need to buy a 2tb hdd. Go with 1tb i think it will be enough for you.

You can get like 3 1tb drives for the price of the 2tb drive

IMO get 1-3 1TB drives

If you've survived for a while on your 250gb drive, think about how long the 1tb drive will last you.
Just get the single tb drive and if you ever need more, prices will probably have dropped.

Hey there Bondy3,

Do you really need the performance of a SSD for your secondary storage? I'd suggest to consider what you will be storing there first and if it's nothing demanding (movies, games, files, etc.) to simply go for a larger HDD designed for secondary storage and cool and quiet performance (WD Blue would be a good option) or simply combine a larger SSD for the more demanding things with a HDD - this should be the more cost-effective solution. :)

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
