So I am looking for a new keyboard, but don't know which cherry mx switch I want. Is there and CHEAP cherry mx switch samplers?

I am looking at this one currently: http://www.maxkeyboard.com/max-keyboard-keycap-cherry-mx-switch-o-ring-sampler-tester-kit.html but I don't know if this is the right one.

Thanks

just go to your local computer shop

chances are, the mechanical keyboard have their arrow keys exposed at the retail box for you to try it :P

or you can follow this general guideline

Blue = typing, bad for fast paced gaming (atleast for me), the clicky noise is annoying to some, and especially the people around them

Red = good for gaming, moderate typing experience

Brown = a lighter version of the blue (as heavy as red), require slightly more force to press, but less clicky sound

Black = a heavier red, require more force to press

these are the four common ones

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

honestly they should all be normal cherry switches and therefor should not make any difference. Do what @Moonzy said if possible

to game or not to game, that`s the question

dont know of one but i can say that Browns are awesome, they feel great and they sound great. thats all i know. i have felt the Razer switches and they suuuuuuuck IMO, they feel to light and flimsy

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

That one will work. Alternatively you could go to a computer store near you and see if they have mech keyboards on display.

Browns are lighter than Blues. They're the same weight as Reds but with the tactile bump.
