Hello everyone.

I need to build a pc for working with programs like Vray (for CPU-based rendering) and 3dmax, Photoshop and ... .

I'm an architect, so my main need is Vray and It's not Vray-RT which is GPU-based.

This is a build that I think is good for me :

CPU : 5820k

Motherboard : Gigabyte SOC Champion

RAM : Gskill Ripjaws4-2666-4x8GB-CL15-Red

VGA : nVidia 750 ti

SSD : 256 Samsung EVO

HDD : WD Blue 1TB

CASE : HAF - X

COOLER : Corsair H100i

POWER :  Cooler Master V1000

** Notes:

* I'm out of the US and therefore I can't tell how much my budget is. Because prices are different here compare to Amazon or Newegg. But you can estimate my budget based on parts I've chosen.

* I have 1 monitor, keyboard, mouse and an optical drive.

Now I have some questions :

1- Is this build the best for my purposes ? what's your idea? which parts should I change ?

2- HAF-X or Cosmos SE ? which one is cooler ?

3- H100i or CM Nepton 240M ? which one is cooler ?

4- CM V1000 or V1200 Platinum ? which one is more future-proof? It's possible to add a graphic card like GTX980ti or maybe 2 of it in SLI in the future.

I would appreciate it If you help me.

Thanks a lot.

these

Spoiler

1) overkill motherboard, get a cheaper one

2) get an air cooler, it have a better reliability

3) the v1000 can power 3 of your rigs easily, grab a lower wattage one

the v1000 is fine, just that you're spending money on things you dont need

both are overkill, even for 980Ti sli

i recommend the EVGA SuperNOVA P2 850W, way enough for a 5820k and ex 980Ti SLI
if you insist, the V1000 will do fine

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

i heard the HAF-X has really good airflow and i recommend a noctua NH-D15 an aircooler as it performs better than the h100i and nepton while being less expensive

Thanks. I consider air cooling in my build.

as long as the motherboard does what you want, its a good motherboard lol

if you plan to SLI, get a board that supports it (i think all x99 board supports sli? its best that you check though)

the x99-A is a decent board :P
