What's the difference?

Chewique

What is the difference between WD black and WD blue? They both have the same RMP, is it just the colour?

Barely any difference what so ever. One thing I know is you can get the WD Blue only in 1TB but the black you can get up to 8TB.

So is it worth me buying a 1tb WD blue over a 1tb WD black?

Yes. Also, the Blacks are supposedly really loud but they last longer, not that it matters.

How much would a blue last? I expect my pc to last about 3 to 4 years?

WD Black is a faster drive, and has a longer warranty. Blues come in different capacities as well. Maybe not as high, but they do come in different capacities.

Black supposedly have better performance and warranty but we all know that's overpriced.

WD blacks are generally intended to be used for mass storage that will be writen to and read from a lot. This is handy if you are useing it in a NAS or as a storage drive for video content you create. In short, WD Blacks are more shock resistant, and are rated for more read/write cycles.
