Wifi repeater

Full_Logicz

I use a asus router as a repeater because i CAN NOT use a cable to bring internet to my room (that is because my house is shitty and only a 50m cable could be used and my parents are not going to let me do that ) and i seems like i cannot connect my pc to the repeater with a cable. Am i doing something wrong or this is how it works ?

Your whole house would benefit tremendously if you just wired a connection to your room. Maybe some convincing on your part could change your parents’ minds – it is certainly the more logical answer, Wi-Fi “repeaters” are about as awful as having garbage mailed to your doorstep. If that fails however then yeah, it’s your only choice.

You should ask your parents about getting a staple gun and purchasing maybe a 75-foot or 100-foot cable, and simply stapling the ethernet cable to the edges of the walls leading up to your room. It’s the most elegant solution I can think of that’s cheap and effective.

I asked them about using a long cable and they said "NO ! No cable in my house " so yeah ... i was just courious if u cannot get internet connection from a repeater with cable.

Repeaters are renown for being unreliable.. a bad solution at best.

Buy a better router if you have to.

Might want to look in to MOCA or Power Line Ethernet.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
