Definitely the rig with X4 860K. Some games like Far Cry 4, and GTA V simply don't run well on any kind of dual core any more.

Some games dont even work on a dualcore, so the 860k.....

...but seriosly, at least get a i3 6100, that would be so much better and still cheap.

So wait why the SFX PSU?

And what's your budget exactly?

I'd stick to the quad core unless you're going to upgrade to an i5 quickly, maybe even go for the 880K, it starts to keep up with an i3 in games which is pretty good given that it's a current gen AMD CPU.

Or when were you building? As AM4 might be out by then.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Well I'd probably go with an ITX case that lets you use an ATX PSU anyways, but ya if you can wait to see how AM4 does or save up more and go for an i3 6100 that'd be the best option.

Of course if you don't plan to upgrade for a while go for an 880K and just live with FM2+ I suppose.

You know you'd have to get a new mobo for AM4, right? So only plan when it becomes available.
