GTX 970 stops outputting to display port

Hello. My Asus GTX 970 randomly stops outputting to display port for no apparent reason. It keeps outputting to dvi but not display port. Any ideas? It disconnects from the display from a minute or two and then randomly connects again.

My first step would be to check if another display port cable has the same issue, I'm unsure if that could be a driver problem but you can reinstall drivers
