Hi,

I currently have a R9 390, and I'm thinking of selling it to my brother when he builds his PC so he can get a better card than he otherwise would have, and I can get an upgrade. The problem is, I don't know what to go for. I have a 4690k which I could easily overclock, so I was thinking of a 980 as that's the maximum I can pay. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ron.

I thought that pascal was going to mostly be high-end GPUs? Do you think some will be released at the same price as the 980?

Pascal is an architecture, so it'll have the same iterations and price scheme as maxwell. There will be the high-end, mid and low.

well if nvidia follow what they've been doing

you'll see the x70 and x80 cards first, which should be within your budget lol

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

nope, there will be different tiers. high, mid, low. same as every time they release a new card. the first ones will be the equivalent of a 970 and 980. probably called the x70 and x80.
