I might be asking a stupid question: Is a 8GB SSD enough for just Windows?

Yelets

I plan to buy a laptop with a 1TB hd and 8GB SSD. Is it enough to store windows 10?

No. 1TB hdd with 8GB ssd will be using the SSD for cache, it will not be accessible for you to install anything into.

If it's a 1Tb + 8Gb flash , SSHD yeah.

If you are talking about a 8Gb standalone SSD , i never saw one , and def nope.

I wish i could oc my body, during winter overheating would be great.

Well... By a fact IK that W7 32 bits does fit in a 8 GB drive...

The installation media does....the actual installation does not. Minimum requirement is 16GB of free space per Microsoft

Nope, installed W7 32 bit in a 8 GB Quantum Fireball like 3 years ago

Cool? The quoted minimum requirement from Microsoft is still 16GB so I'll be going with that for general purposes.

The laptop he's looking at has an SSHD in it. It's not really a stand alone SSD, it's just cache.

the 1tb and 8gb ssd means its a hard drive with an ssd built in for cache, to make it faster, you wont be able to use that 8 gb like its a normal drive...

Thanks for the replies guys! And yeah I was also confused about the small capacity of it! However theres an another variant with a 256 GB SSD , but no HD. I dont think thats enough space for serious games like Fallout 4, The Division etc. Would you recommend to put a 1TB HD inside just for mass storage? And leave the SSD for windows and 1-3 serious games and a few low ones like CSGO and LoL?
