Best gpu under $650?

KabuTheFox

This will be used in a multi monitor setup for gaming, design, and rendering

(currently 2x 1440p,but plans for 2-3x 4k when it's more affordable)

Was planning to get either msi's 980 ti 6g oc or evgas 980ti classified but I wanted to check my options before spending the money.

so you're gonna plan on gaming on all three 4k monitors? or just a single monitor?

I'd wait for Pascal.

When you mean multi monitor setup do you mean something like Nvidia Surround/Eyefinity?

If so i wouldn't expect any single gpu to be able to do it with in a good amount of time under $650,

TBH I would wait for Pascal to see how much they cost and perform.

CPU: i5 6600k OCed to 4.5Ghz @ 1.35v, GPU: R9 390 Nitro, Motherboard: Asus z170-A, CPU Cooler: H100i GTX, RAM: HyperX 2x8 16gb DDR4, PSU: Seasonic x650, Storage: 850 EVO 500gb, WD 1tb blue, Case: H440 White/Black

When is pascal slanted for release anyways?  I'm reading it's being unveiled late may but released this summer?  Can't wait that long for a gpu.

I'd wait for Pascal.

With dual monitors I'd just game on one and use the other for whatever, though I'm guessing you assumed that.  With 3 monitors I'd game on all 3.

Would it be more feasible to have 3 1440p monitors with the card I mentioned?

I hear 4k is basically pointless on anything under 27" inches anyways.  Don't really think I want such big monitors in triple

For AAA gaming? No. For work? Anything is fine as long as it suits your needs

There is no GPU that will give you good Frames with 2K or 4K Surround Gaming.

You will not get 60 FPS with 2k surround. Not even close.  You need at least 2 way SLI 980Ti to get ~ 30FPS in AAA Titles. 4K is out of the Question.

You can Work with this Setup, but Gaming is impossible.

Forget that Surround  Setup and buy the x34.

oh thank you, good to know for future reference. 2 monitor (1 gaming, 1 casual) should be fine though?

If you want the best between Visuals and Performance and Gaming is important to you, get a 27" 2560x1440 IPS Gsync Display. High Frames with maxed out Settings and crystal clear Visuals. The perfect choice for a single 980Ti. You can get a Cheap second 60hz TN Panel for Workstuff.

thanks for the info
the ; asus rog pg279q and acer predator xb271UH both look pretty good
will probably go with a u2515h for my second monitor, want the accurate color personally for arts and stuff

more leaning towards the acer though upon looking up reviews....are those red base feet removeable?

gaming on 3 1440p monitors with 1 980Ti? No. 2 980Ti? yes but not constant 60fps.

why not just game on 1 monitor... surround is useless.

Do wish I purchased that Acer xb271 off the eBay Store though last night, didn't realize it was a temp pricing from the seller ~_~

Will a 980ti handle 2 1440p displays?

( U2515h + Acer xb271, only the Acer for gaming of course )

Wait for Pascal/Polaris, and single GPU cards will not be able to handle surround 4K good at ALL. To get high settings surround 4K, you'll need some kind of SLI/Crossfire setup and basically just a kick-ass system with lots and lots of VRAM. Wait for gen cards, and if they are a flunk, 980Ti. If they are good, get the best you can from AMD OR NVIDIA for around ~$650.

MSI GE72 Apache Pro-242 - (5700HQ : 970M : 16gb RAM : 17.3" : Win10 : 1TB HDD : Razer Anansi : Some mouse) - hooked up to a 34UM58-P (WFHD) in dual screen
