Which upgrade should I do first?

Which upgrade should I do first? Cpu motherboard and possibly ram? Or the GPU? Some of the games this year say that it needs a minimum of a 4th Gen cpu and a gtx 760 or something like that. All I want to do is be able to play the game at 1080p and a minimum of 40-50 fps hopefully 60fps. I currently have a i7 3770k and a gtx 960 strix. I do want to upgrade but I don't know if I should do the gpu first and go 970, 980 or wait for pascal. Or go for a newer cpu. I am hesitant on skylark because of the price of i7 skylark and the ram. What do you guys think? Besides gaming, I am also gonna do premiere pro after effects and photoshop. And general stuff too.

I7-6700k, Asus Maximus VIII Formula, 2 x 8GB Corsair Dominator Plantinum ram, ASUS GTX 960 STRIX, sound blaster zx, 1TB boot drive ssd, 128GB/256GB storage ssd, 1TB storage HDD, 4TB of storage (backup),Windows 10 Pro,1000w psu

Your CPU is fine, I'd upgrade the GPU. It's definitely the weakest part of your system.

Just wait for Pascal, it's just around the corner.

What specifically is your whole build? Your 3770k is fine. I´d probably wait for Polaris and Pascal.

The i7 is fine, the 960 will get high settings in new games and if you had to upgrade then get a GTX970

The 3770K is still a decent chip for most things - provided you're not trying to run a Rift or Vive headset - so the GPU would be the weakest point in your system currently.

I'm still rocking a 3770K myself paired with a 6GB GTX780 (yeah, it was technically overkill on RAM for most games, better have and not need than need and not have IMO), and I'm waiting until Polaris & Pascal launch before deciding on if/when to move to newer hardware.

Eh, it likely won't compare to the newer cards. The shrink in Nm should net some pretty nice improvements.
