Building a new computer, need some advise

I've recently gotten a chance to finally build my own computer but I'm not too sure about what to get, I kind of know my way around graphics card which I'm planning on using the GeForce GTX 980 or the Geforce GTX 980 ti. But I'm not too sure about the other parts of the computer, Mainly with the Cpu, Cooling System, Motherboard and the Power Supply. If you guys have any suggestions on what to get that will be great. Thanks

My Budget Is around $1500-$1800

What are you plans on using the System? Is it mainly for gaming or would you use it for editing and the likes?
