So there was a massive power outage due to weather today, and after turning my pc on (which was in a surge protector), after opening a program, the machine freezes. The fans stay at a normal pace, but the screen is frozen. I've tried swapping RAM just to see if there was any hope in that seeing as it'd be an easy fix. But not a clue on what it could be.

Also note, I do not have a recovery disk!

could possibly be a faulty HDD. By Default, caching for HDD is enabled in WIndows which causes error or corruption if their is a unexpected power loss.

My OS is currently on my SSD and I transferred my Windows OS from the HDD to my SSD with a Samsung Migration tool/kit. Would that cause problems?

Hate to ask, but how would i go about opening it while I can't even open Chrome? I can put it on thumb drive, but is there some sort of work around?

no not really, but if you put the portable version on a USB with some other PC you should be able to run it

if it was anything like all the wind we had here today i unplugged all my  stuff today then the power went  out  and stayed out for 2 hours, sometimes  the power flickers can cause a power surge   and PCs no like a surge. Surge protectors  arent a fail safe,,, i suggest trying to reset your cmos,  the power flickers and on and off nature is not good for electronics.  and pcs are about the worst  at  being a victim to it.

I have heard SSDs are prone to  failures with  a lot of on and off booting  from such a thing, do not take my word for it though.
