I added a bigger psu so you'll be able to cf in the future and changed the ram to something cheapper

The GPU will last, however that CPU will bottleneck it in more intensive games (BF4) for sure. Get the FX6300 and you're golden, even if you go for 7950 instead.

If youre not planning to crossfire get a 650w power supply from Corsair. Theyre better than CoolMax.

Also get a RAM kit thats 4GB x 2. You'll get better performance.

And depending on sway in your budget try and get a better CPU and motherboard.

I added that psu so if he would have the money to buy another 7970 he just put it in there. we still don't know if he would cf or not, I added the oportunity

I know that 4GBx2 ram kits are faster but the cheapest CAS 9 one costed almost double

no it wont, bf3 maxes out 2 cores and runs at 90% on 3 cores and about 70% on 4 cores, i know a phenom is about 10% more powerful than an athlon but at 3.4ghz itll be fine and being a 32nm part that one will overclock nicely if he should want to.

Am I talking about BF3? No. I am talking about BF4 and that a 6-core AMD is recommended for the game to run smoothly on 64p servers. And even if not - it's a BAD combo with the HD7970. Here is my suggestion: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1F6m3

If ~$750 is your budget, here is something better with an FX6300 and a 7970 for only a bit more: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1F6vG

I also wouldn't get a larger PSU, just to hold the option to eventually go CrossFire/SLI in the future. That's bullshit, stick with single GPU. Plus the PSU i chose is modular.

Edit: if that's too much for your budget, get the 7950 instead

Edit2: btw. why is hardware so dirt cheap in the US? When i configure that PC at my retailer i come to ~800€, not $

who cares...

Oh i concur its a bad mix with a 7950/70 i was going by his part list of 7870 and you can run it on a tri core/core 2 quad (oc'd), just saying.

Bf3 is already using 6core,bf4 will use 8cores.All quad cores,fx 6xxx 8xxx will be great. Don't know why people advice old athlon 2 x4 while fx6300 is much better deal.

because the fm2 athlon costs £58 wheras an fx6300 costs £88? for a bit more you can get an 8320 but then you need a better board and the prices shoot up.

MY suggestion for your build

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1F80E

You are spending 100$ on a CPU cooler, but dont include a GPU, so you want to get the frames out off the CPU? Goodluck with the newer titles for that one. Spending the money at the wrong places.

NZXT Phantom windowed, Asus Z77 Sabertooth, Intel 2600K, Noctua NH-D14, EVGA 780 Classified, Crucial Ballistic Tactical, Crucial M4 128GB + Samsung 850 EVO, Corsair RM850, Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Peripherals: Sennheiser HD598, FinalMouse Classic, SteelSeries Qck Heavy, Ducky Shine Zero (MX Brown), AOC G2460PF & Qnix QX2710

Build Log: Phantom - Antique Noctua

Doesn't this motherboard supports only 95w cpu not 125w? And especially not for OC. I would rather go for better mobo because lousy one can fry all your important parts

Why would one give 350$ for 7870? or whoever posted this http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1ErcA

As far as the data given he or she wishes for a  system that has quite good graphics in hd and is a k processor so it can be overclocked and which can be upgraded in the future to a dedicated graphics card

You are spending 100$ on a CPU cooler, but dont include a GPU, so you want to get the frames out off the CPU? Goodluck with the newer titles for that one. Spending the money at the wrong places.

You might disagree with my suggestion but I but in the integrated cpu cooler so that he can overclock the a10 6800k if he wishes to so that he has a cool & staple system  also here is a little more date on the richland apu

Here you go: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1FlPe

Actually within budget without relying on rebates. Add a Hyper 212 Evo if you'd like.
