Shipping Question.

So I ordered an item and its coming from Canada. So its going from Canada's postal system to the US postal system (USPS) and then to me. My question is what happens if my package doesn't show up? Or if I see on the tracking number its been delivered but it not at my house who's responsibility is that?

The United States Postal Service is extremely reliable, so it would be considered your fault (wrong address or something), until proven otherwise.

 

But do you have any reason to believe it won't be delivered correctly?

i think it would be the last post office to get the package. so USPS

Well I don't live in the best of neighborhoods sooooo ya, I'm more worried about that. I go to school and so I may not be here to get it as soon as it gets here.

do you have like a entry way or screen door because they usually put it in a door if it's unlocked.

You might be able to specify to have it held or require a signature.

Yes but in the past they don't put it there. I'm more worried this time because this is my most expensive shipment. Is it possible to have them hold it at an USPS office to pick up?

put up a fake security camera that is in plain view xD thats what my mom did when we had garage sales to stop people from stealing. or set up a real camera somehow if you're that worried.even tell a neighbor that is trustworthy if you have one that stays home to check and if they see it to bring it in their house till you get home.

You should be able to call them and have them hold it at the post office nearest to you. Just make sure you give them advance notice; ie not the day of delivery. Do you have a tracking number, or was it basic shipping?

 

In the future, perhaps consider a PO box at the post office? For your own security, that is, if you live in a bad area as you say.

And the easiest and cheapest option would be to call USPS and ask them to hold the package, where they will probably do it for free, rather than buying a security camera which will cost money, and not really prevent a theft in general.
