fade over how long of a time period are we talking here?

does it fade over the course of saying something, over the course of the evening, is it getting progressively more quiet every night?

experiment: download one of those tone generator apps on your phone, set it to one of the average frequency tones (around where your voice would be, if you'd be any good at singing) hop on teamspeak, ask the d00dz to listen if it fades out and play the tone while holding the phone near your microphone.
