Hello everyone, I have been thinking about upgrading my current setup:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670 3.4GHz
Video Card: Gigabyte GV-N770OC-2GD
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H87-HD3
Memory: Kingston HyperX Genesis 8 GB DDR3-1600
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Storage SSD: Samsung MZ-840 EVO 120GB
Case: Corsair Carbide 300R
Power Supply: XFX PRO 650W
OS: Microsoft Windows 8 64BIT OEM

My current budget is around 750€, I'm from Belgium and will be ordering parts online.
I'm currently running 3 monitors, and am gaming on 1080P. I was also wondering if I could get ready for VR with this budget?
I've also been noticing that my CPU has been hitting high temperatures (90°C while playing counterstrike), maybe I should replace the default CPU cooler?
Even when there is not a high load on my computer, you can hear the fans spin kinda loud. (When I look at it with HWMonitor it says that one fan is spinning at ~1700RPM)

I was also looking into getting a windowed side panel for my case, but cant seem to find it in the shops in Belgium.

Well if you want to get ready for VR, i think you should get a 980ti + 8 more gigs and you should be set, cause your psu/cpu are good to go

for cpu cooler maybe a 212 evo, cyroig h7 or a dark rock pro

but if you want to get a new case and more stuff, the 390 or 970, 980 should be good as well

Well forget about VR

buy a hyper 212 EVO for your CPU

are you trying to game on 3 1080p displays? If so get a 390

and just save the extra 300 Euros or so for later or something.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Thank you guys for your help, I will probably order the following:

  • Cooler Master Hyper212 Evo
  • Corsair 8 GB DDR3-1600 Kit

I'm still deciding on the Gigabyte GTX 970 and  the Gigabyte GTX 980, I was wondering if the performance increase was worth the almost 1.5x price increase?

Also, for installing the cpu cooler, do I need to order Thermal paste, does this come included with the cooler?

Are you me? Because I'm from Belgium as well and have a similar question :P (well, only about the thermal paste, but still)

The website I'm ordering from says there is thermal paste included.

I'm wondering if its worth it to buy some extra because it might be of higher quality? (I have no idea) or in case I mess it up.
