Yeah, doesn't matter if it's managed or not either, it juste has to do what a switch does,

Also, actually, I need 9 optic interfaces. Don't need RJ45s.

there is not that many.

You won't find many switches that have direct optical fiber interfaces, instead look for switches with SFP+. The fiber cable attaches to transceivers (which you'll also need to buy) that go inside these ports.

Yeah that's what I figured.

What the differnce between SFP and SFP+ ?

Thanks

What is your budget?

I'm guessing you want managed?

How many ports do you want?

Do you want it to be all SFP(+) ports or just truck port to be SFP(+) and how many of each (e.g. 1-4 sfp)?

SFP+ is newer and faster, but if you don't need 10 gig then regular SFP will be fine.

Oh ok. Thanks.

Anything really. Max 5k. CAD.

What is managed?

I need at least 2 optic interfaces, that's it. So if it can be SFP it's fine.

RJ45 doesn't matter on my first switch.

Don't need a managed one.

so all you need is something like a 4+ port managed switch of SFP ports
