Tell me what you think, I really wanted to squeeze in that 970 and i5, so I skimped out in a lot of areas.

Blue RAM... red GPU??

Looks decent. Any special reason why you went for 970 instead of 390?

What's the need for 16 gb of ram. You could've used the extra few bucks for a 390. Like in my build ;)

The 390 and 970 trade blows, and I wouldnt need the extra few dollars anyways.

i picked the 970 because based off the other part choices, I can tell that this friend will not be an experienced builder, and I personally find NVidia more stable.

that is the lowest price/gb DDR3 with a heat spreader, it is a better deal to get 16 than it is to get 8.

I think that a Xeon 1231-v3 would be the better choice.

What do you think?

Also, you sacrificed 8GB of RAM and an SSD for a different brand GPU that performs almost exactly the same and a worse PSU.
