Hi all

I have a question about audio mixers (This one in particular https://goo.gl/MgePiB

I'm new to all things audio and really want to learn, my first purchase was a pair of Beyerdynamic DT880's (600ohm) and an Audinst HUD-mx1 Amplifier, So my question is does a mixer allow me to take the audio output of lets say my computer and 'Mix' it while listening through my headphones or is it for mixing microphone outputs only (which I still want to do as well). Is there something better for what I'm looking to do? Which is just having fun messing with sounds (not looking for software).

So you would have computer/othersources>mixer>amplifier/headphones, right? You wouldn't be able to record with this, but it would allow you to customise your outputs.

My native language is C++

Correct, so this would work?

Hey @LinusTech The reply system is semi-broken on chrome on ipads. Anyway, What I mean is, I have never gotten stereo to work on one of these boards. I own one myself. You might just want to get something a little less sophisticated than this board.

It doesnt mix your different audio sources on your computer like youtube game spotify, if you send the audio output to the mixer it will only have the audio out put. If you are using it to mix the microphone into the computer you use it to control the microphone volume.

So i can't mix system audio, for example if i put my system audio through the mic ports on the mixer i can't mix it and listen through headphones? I'm not looking to record i just want to mess around.

Right here is an image of a mixer that I used and the setup is channel 1 Computer channel 2 keyboard, channel 3 guitar, channel 4 aux mic (for recording) These seperate sources get mixed together, but the sound from the computer is only one source, if you want to just mix the sounf from differnt programs and  have windows there is a software volume mixer that can adjust the sound levels (right click the volume symbol and choose open mixer or something like that)

sorry it is a bit blurry

you can't mix different noises on the computer but you can take the audio out  of the computer and send it to the mixer
