Every week or so, one day i will I notice my RAM usage slowly climb until it reaches max and then i experience big slow downs. It uses about 100MB of RAM every 3-5 seconds until it uses all 16GBs.I have 16GB of DDR2400, Team Group RAM. Only about 1GB of this RAM gets reported as used in task manager but "System and compressed memory" appears and uses the most when this happens (and reports 700MB of used RAM).

Any ideas on what is happening here? A system restart solves this problem until it happens again.

Run ram test. If it fails RMA the ram.

A few months back I did a RAM test. could something have changed since then that would warrant a second run?

Run the test see what happen it could show something. Also when the slow down happens check what programs are running in the back around it might show there. If there is different ram you could use that should tell you as well if it is a Ram leak.

I don't have any other DDR4 laying around nor do any friends have DDR4 builds i could borrow from. I will run the memory test again when I get a chance though and report back.
